The role of the NHS YOURhealth Service
YOURhealth provide FREE personal support and motivation to adults across the East Riding of Yorkshire who wish to lead a healthier lifestyle.
You may want to get fitter, control your weight, have a healthier diet or quit smoking.
You may want to reduce your stress levels or just feel better about yourself. If you want to become healthier but don’t know where to start, YOURhealth will be able to help you work out exactly what you want and how to go about it.
The YOURhealth team are friendly, understanding and supportive. They will help and encourage you to achieve and maintain a healthier lifestyle.
YOURhealth will guide and support you with:
- Healthy eating
- Weight management
- Physical activity
- Giving up smoking and substances – This is a combination therapy of behaviour support and free Nicotine Replacement Therapy or prescribed Champix
- Cutting down on alcohol
- Sexual health
- Reducing stress and anxiety
- Debt and welfare
- Loneliness and Isolation
- Education and volunteering
- Aids and adaptations
- Relationship/bereavement support

If you want to stop smoking but don’t know where to start YOURhealth will be able to help you work out exactly how to begin your quit process, set a quit date and provide you with free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) along with 8 weeks of free motivational support to aide you in quitting and make your quit a successful one.
