Friends and Family Test

The Friends and Family Test (FFT) is an important feedback tool that supports the fundamental principle that people who use NHS services should have the opportunity to provide feedback on their experience.

The Friends and Family Test asks people if they would recommend the service to others and offers a range of response options. Every time someone chooses to tell us about their experience of our service or staff, it is a unique opportunity for learning and improvement. As an organisation, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, seeks to share and celebrate good practice whilst appreciating the courage of those who speak up when the expected levels of service are not met.

“Patients and their families need to be empowered, encouraged and enabled to have their say. When they speak up, they need to be listened to and what they say should be acted on”

(Ann Abraham to the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry 2013)
